+1Dom my friend , I think we have more things to learn form this thread than the solution.Any chance of posting the solution so others may learn from it?

We can sort of deduce there were two posts after mercury's WTF post that gave him instructions, mine and zzz2496's. Both mentioned to get the SATA drivers from the vendor's site, and mine went a step further and suggested a disk wipe and partition via a non-Windows utility, and ask the netbook vendor themselves for possible specific settings in the BIOS for Win7 compatibility. For what it's worth anyway, I am pretty certain we can sort of figure out what steps were needed to fix it given what info we have in the thread, and the chronological order.
