Is it possible to have multiple...

I have my external drive, setup with multiple partitions one for Windows 7 and one for Windows Vista for installing from. In theory it won't show me a list of which to boot from, it will pick the first one that was marked as active, correct? Is it possible to show a menu to pick which one I want to boot from, or is it only possible by marking the one I need as active and the other not. I don't mind going in and marking which is active, but it would make it a lot simpler if i didn't have to do that each time.

Hello TipsyHitman, welcome to Seven Forums!

You say you have Windows booting from an external Hard Disk Drive (HDD), how is that HDD connected to the motherboard, USB, eSATA ... ?

    Its connected via USB.

By windows 7 and vista I mean the installers for them not the actual OS.

And you already have Windows 7 / Vista installed and starting-up/booting from that HDD?

Well what I want it to do is when I boot from the USB HDD, I can select Windows 7 Installer or Windows Vista Installer, from any computer I boot from. It just makes it easier than having multiple USB drives or DVDs to install from, everything is all in one location. I'm running Windows 7 64bit off my internal HDD, but that shouldnt affect what I want to do.
I'm not actually running the OS off the HDD, just the setup.

OK, I was wondering; I don't know if marking either active will make it start first, I haven't done installing from HDD at all; I just thought you were saying you had a Windows OS booting from an external.

Keep checking back as someone with info for you may be around at any time.

I have an 8gb flash stick I wrote Win7 ISO to using UltraISO trial version's Bootable tab. It places the extracted files into the root, so when not installing i put them into a folder alongside all of my other tools and apps. I have Vista on there too in its folder. When I want to install one of them I just spill the files out of the folder into the root and boot the stick.
