7 and XP dual booting problem
I am trying to dual boot windows 7 and XP but I keep running into the same problem. Windows 7 was installed first and I am now trying to install XP. I partitioned my hard drive and then I inserted the Windows XP installation disk and the "Install Windows XP" option is greyed out. I rebooted my computer and booted from the disk and got the following error message:
"A problem has been detected with windows and has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Technical Imformation:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0XF78D2524,0x0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)"
Im sure I do not have a virus.
Has anyone esle run into this screen before and if so how do you fix it?
