Many tech enthusiasts want a cleaner install than one which comes from the factory loaded with the maker's utilities and sponsored factory bloatware.

This is because Win7 has built-in utilities (like wireless) which are much superior to the factory versions which can waste CPU/RAM and spy on you.

The bloatware can even corrupt the OS by uninstall, needing a tool like Revo Uninstaller to get all of the leftover registry keys and files.

To get the cleanest possible install, we have to locate a Win7 retail installer - either borrow one to copy, download from a safe source, or beg the manufacturer to provide one. Most maker's no longer provide the Install DVD because their profit margin is made up of fees paid by bloatware sponsors.

Say your uncle or son has a Win7 installer - you can copy it or extract the ISO using ImgBurn, then unlock all version in the ISO to burn an all-versions DVD to reinstall using the Product Key on the COA sticker attached to the machine.

I hope this makes it clearer. My specialty is clean reinstall so I'm glad to help anytime someone wants to experience lightweight instantaneous Win7 unleased from the factory bloatware. It is truly better than a new computer since new computers mostly come loaded with bloatware!!

Finally, once you get it set up you can save a Win7 backup image externally so you never have to reinstall again - just reimage from the stored image using your DVD in 15 minutes.
