    Guide

Hi all, does anyone have a step by step guide to installing WIN7 Home Premium on a brand new Crucial Real SSD c300 64bg drive? Is there anything special I should know or do? It will be installed on my first build. Here are the specs:

    ASROCK EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870
AMD PHENOM II X4 955 BLACK ED
    GSKILL RIPJAW 4GB(2X2)
    HD1-CRUCIAL REAL SSD C300 64GB
    HD2-SAMSUNG SPINTPOINT F3 1TB
    SEASONIC M12II 620 80CLE
    NZXT M59 CASE
    MSI N460GTX HAWK GEFORCE GTX460(FERMI) 1GB

    Thank you all.

Install it the regular way, and make sure there are no partitions on the disk, if there are, delete them, and let windows setup create them.

    Hello RJ,

Since it's a new SSD, there's nothing special that you have to do. You can just do a normal clean install of Windows 7 like you would on any other SATA/AHCI HDD.

When you are done with the installation, make sure that Disk Defrag is disabled.

And if you do not use hibernation, you may also want to delete the hiberfile. The Command is : powercfg.exe -h off It saves you a few GIGs on the SSD. All the other OS files should stay on the SSD.

If you want to move your user files to the HDD, here are a few tips on how to create a Data Partition
