For a long time I was running Fedora/Windows XP on seperate drives. It works quite well, as GRUB (Linux),or MBR (Windows) takes care of loading. The issue arises when you pull one of the drives. It can cause a no hard drive error. It is easy to fix, but like others have said it keeps the OS's seperate from one another. You can of course still see them from the different OS's

If you read the conversation, it is about how to boot via the BIOS - without GRUB or a Windows-managed Dual Boot.

This leaves the HD's free to come and go as you please, and in the case of Linux no GRUB corruption of Win7.
