    7100 to 7229 question

i'm planning to do a fresh install from 7100 to 7229

how would i save my "profile or account" that after a fresh install of 7229 i can just copy my "profile or account" to the new installation?

what i mean on "profile or account" is all of my files, installed programs, settings etc., that after i save this i can just copy it to the new installation because i don't want to go to the trouble of installing again all of my programs

    thanks..

Why don't you just update if u want to have everything saved?

I don't know any possibilty to save all programs and whatever doing a fresh install
Cause a backup won't do it in this case... cause your programs also need the registry settings that were made for them... Maybe there is a possibilty by loading a win 7 backup of files and whatever but if you do it like this you could also update...

No need to call yourself a noob! Everyone does things the first time.

Just burn the current .iso to a DVD.
Then insert the DVD while you are in Windows 7... follow the setup till you are able to choose "Update".

Maybe you'll get a list with programs that were not supported by the update function... if you can't manage it yourself show us the list and we will help you.

    You are welcome!
