How do I go back to single-boot?

I had Windows XP on my Western Digital drive and I installed Windows 7 on my Seagate drive . I want to remove Windows XP from the Western Digital drive and format it to use as a data drive. How can I do this?

    Disk Management:
Seagate (C:) Boot, Page File Active, Crash Dump Primary Partition
Western Digital (D:) System, Active, Primary Partition

I too, would really appreciate knowing how to do this. I recently had a hdd crash, so I reinstalled Windows 7 on my other drive. Now I'm all set up, on the start up screen it still continues to give me the "dual boot" option, even though I have formatted that drive.

Anyone know how to remove the dual boot option? Specifically for W7, I know in XP you could edit the boot.ini file, but with W7, I'm stumped!

    Any help is appreciated!

Hello vumeister, welcome to Seven Forums!

The way to do this is to power down the PC and disconnect the WD Hard Disk Drive (HDD) from the motherboard and set the Seagate as the second boot device in the BIOS after the CD/DVD drive, starting at Option Two in this tutorial at the link below and boot the Windows DVD or a windows repair disk to diskpart and mark the Windows 7 partition on the Seagate as "Active" then do the 3 startup repairs with restarts discussed in the Option One of the same tutorial.

Then power down and reconnect the WD and if you want to do a wipe (secure erase) to the WD have a look at step #7 of this tutorial and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Hello Brotin, welcome to Seven Forums!

For you to get the appropriate help for your specific situation please click here to start your own new thread.

       Note

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.
