laptop wont let me install ><

    Hmm I See. I dont have any more suggestions unfortunately other than firmware AThat would be the only logical conclusion I can come up with. Have you tried burning the OS iso the disc on that alienware machine itself? Try burning at a slower speed if at all possible.

    HOLY JEEEBUS so i just unpluged it from the power cord and went to grab the wep key and it decided that it would finally load, stupid machines i just hope that i dont have any problems with the install fingers crossed

    well i got it to finally start the install but got stuck at 0% for about an hour or so, so lets try again, hope the battery holds up

    well ive given up, it just dosent wanna install so im just gonna put it back in storage unless someone is close by that could help me out instead. if not no big deal and thanks for the help

    Same problem occured when I attempted to install Windows 7 Beta on a friends laptop (that turned out to be made by Walmart, we call it the craptop).

    I cannot help you sadly, but this problem does appear to happen frequently with old 'laptops'.

    One thing, what program did you use to burn the ISO to disc?

    nero at 4x, the lowest it would let me burn, i just think its funny that i can install just fine on my desktop but i cant on the laptop

    Could you perhaps try this;

    Install Windows 7 FAST without a DVD or USB device

    Also I prefer using Active ISO.zip (not the EXE) for burning ISO's. =P

    interseting, i installed 7 but am just too used to using xp, so i took it off my desktop humm ill have to look around to see if i can find a copy of vista somewhere around in the house. and ya ive been meaning to go with imgburn but just havent made the switch yet and i like the media player that nero comes with :/
