trying to do fresh install from usb

- Set your PC to boot from USB via BIOS
- Put the USB in and let it load until you get to this screen:
- Once at this screen, press: (SHIFT+F10) to get a CMD window

DiskPart <ENTER>
list disk <ENTER>
select disk 0 <ENTER>
clean <ENTER>
create partition primary align=1024 <ENTER>
format fs=ntfs <ENTER> (Will Take a While)
assign <ENTER>
active <ENTER>
exit <ENTER>
exit <ENTER>- After it completes, exit the INSTALL COMPLETELY and reboot.
- Once you are back in, go about installing Windows just DO NOT ALLOW Windows to create a new partition, use the only one there.
- Windows will now install

How long have you had this hard drive, the usual reason you get that message is because you are trying to install to a GPT partitioned drive.
If it is a GPT disk, it must be converted to MBR.
Convert GPT Disk to MBR Disk
That is the error if you're trying to re-install a windows 7 on a machine with a pre-installed windows 8 or 8.1 OS.
If someone could give you the link on the tutorial, i cant find it. :)

Were you able to install Win7? If so please report back what worked so it will help others.
If not look at Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7.
no the windows seven does not work so got to find new copy and the put it on usb thanks for your help
I didn`t think it had anythng to do with 8, not with that size drive.
