Vista/Win7..wont boot Win7 without DVD in drive

Hello all, I tried as best I could to search on this and saw a few similar threads but still cant get this to work right.

As the tittle says, I have a HP desktop that came with Vista, I partitioned my C drive (which already had a small partition from HP for the recovery stuff labeled D:) and made a "S" drive for the Win7 install.

I installed the copy of Win7 i made from the official ISO from MS and it works ok as long as the DVD is still in the drive...it asks to press any key to boot from cd or DVD, I leave it alone then my option screen comes up and I can pick from either vista or win7 just fine. If the DVD is NOT in the drive then the options I have are either vista or "Windows Setup" and in that case I get

    File: \$WINDOWS..~BT\Windows\System32\winload.exe

    Status: 0xc000000f
selected entry couuld not be loaded cuz missing or corrupt

I tried to do the automatic reapair in the WIN7 installer and sometimes it would come up as finding an error and says it fixed but most of the time it says there is nothing wrong.

Here is what I get from EasyBCD

WHY does it show that first part on "E"? ( I DO have another drive in the PC that shows up as E on both vista and WIN 7 that I put in for photo backups. )

Also I should mention that when I do the "repair my computer" from the WIN 7 installer it shows as WIN 7 installed on the "F" drive..

Any ideas whats wrong?? TIA :)

    Nevermind....GOT it

I just disconnected the other two drives in my PC (one is an IDE, the other a 1.5 TB sata),,,,, reformatted the partition i made on my main OS drive for the win7 install....re did the whole install process and now it dual boots just fine.

I guess somehow during the install process before some of the boot files got put on the other drive???
