Trying to Dual boot with XP - Blue Screen STOP 0000007B

    I have a new W7 laptop.
I want to have the dual boot with XP.

I'm using the following link to set dual boot:
Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

I have XP CD & i'm now trying to install XP first, to be able to use Method-1 (When XP is Installed First)

But once it reaches installing XP, I get the Blue Screen:
    STOP 0000007B
    0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000

I don't know what to do now? Please help me. I never installed or used Win-7.

EDIT-1: I scanned with KIS2011 & it reported no infections.

EDIT-2:There is only 1 HDD with C: having factory default W7 installed. There are no other partitions.

    Thanks,
    Grr

    If you can boot please

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    * Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Ken, I use to have the same problem and it does not create mini dump files. It's not yet booted to the OS, it is booted to CD.

Sounds like if SATA is enabled, XP does not support SATA (from what I heard). You probably need to turn off in BIOS

If I turn Off SATA in Bios, what else I need to do?
During XP install it shows an option for provide 3rd party and/or SATA drivers? Could I do that? Will it help, if so yes, where to get SATA drivers?

And if I disable SATA, will I be able to install W7 as the 2nd OS to achieve dual OS?

Turn off SATA, see if that works.

thanks. Will it cause any problem in installing Windows-7, after XP is installed?

If I turn off SATA, what should I turn on?

You need to slipstream the SATA controller driver into the XP installer which is too old to contain most of them: SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

If perchance you have a floppy drive, you can insert the SATA controller driver at the F6 prompt to load drivers during the initial driver-loading phase after XP installer boots.

The SATA controller may be standalone or part of the chipset, unzip it to find the driver.

Thanks. I do not find any option in the BIOS for SATA.
My Bios is Ami Aptio Setup Utility Copyright 2008 American megatrends Inc
    Version 1.28.1119

Also I do not have any floppy drive.

Where exactly I can get the SATA drivers?

I searched on Sony website and for my model VPC-EB33FM/BJ they do not allow selecting the OS. So where can I get the XP specific drivers for this laptop?

Sorry for asking so many questions.

I had the same issue before. What you need to do is, go to your BIOS and look for the SATA Compatibility. If it is set to AHCI, set it to IDE, save and exit. The only catch for this is everytime you want to boot to your win7 you have to go back to your BIOS again and set to AHCI, same for booting to win xp you have to set again to IDE or else you'll get blue screen. There must be a workaround out there. I'm still trying to find.
