    Windows 7 Not detecting new hard drive


    Im upgrading to windows 7 on a new hard drive and it will not detect my seagate hard drive any help please?

    The first thing try going into your BIOS and making sure the drive shows there. If you are not sure how to do that, let us know.

    My bios tells me WDC ROM Model-HAWK where my hard drive is connected

    I went into diskpart during install and it said i have no drives connected

    Check all the cables, unplug & replug all cables.Than recheck BIOS.

    I threw in a different sata cable and tried a different port and it still tells me WDC Rom model-hawk and im using a seagate barracuda??

    What do you have your Bios setup as for your HD's ? AHCI, SATA, or IDE ?

    OK so I reset my bios and it didnt help. My HD config is on enhanced S-ATA
