Hello mafhh.

First use Step One of this tutorial at the link below to boot to diskpart and do the wipe to the selected Hard Disk Drive then exit twice to close the command window, remove the Windows 7 installation media from the CD/DVD drive and insert the XP installation CD and restart the machine.

SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

DISKPART : At PC Startup

When the XP CD boots do a regular install of XP to the entire HDD, don't make any partitions for the install, just the one to install XP to so it will install itself as C: so there will be no issues there.

Then use the information in this tutorial at the link below to create a partition ahead of XP to install Windows 7 so Windows 7 will do all the work in setting up the dual boot menu and there will be nothing else to do.

Clean Install Windows 7 : Ahead of XP

Be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Since the new version of Partition Wizard bootable CD treats Logical Free Space just like Primary Unallocated Space, you could boot it, rightclick>Resize on G, then F, E, D to drag each partition intact to the right. Click OK after each, then Apply after all.

Then rightclick C to Resize, drag right grey border to the right to take up all of the free space you've moved to the middle, OK, Apply.

Since this is what was blocking you from shrinking D, I thought I'd post up how it can be done with new improved Partition Wizard 5.

Hello mate.

You can't run the clean all from within Windows, you must boot to a command prompt and run it from there, have a look at this tutorial at the link below to see how to do that.
