Fresh win7 install to SSD

    OK sorry I wasn't aware, this is what I was trying to get at since my first post. I thought that if I ghosted the install there would be some hope of retaining my programs etc.. That is SO annoying...

    Two or three people in this thread have suggested methods to do as you want, I just suggested another way to go, go back and look through the earlier posts in this thread.

    If you ghost your install - meaning clone or image it - you will indeed copy over your programs along with the installation exactly as it exists on the HD when you clone or make the image.

    As explained, only if you clean reinstall will you have to also reinstall all of your programs.
