Vista -> W7 upgrade fail?
Hey all,
So I hear W7 is pretty popular now or something
I've been attempting to upgrade my Vista install to 7 recently but have come across a strange issue.
Im currently running x64 Vista Ultimate, and am trying to upgrade to x64 W7 ultimate however whenever I select the x64 package on the disk I have, I'm greeted with this error message:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Weird no? It seems to be contradicting itself....
So I tried launching the 32 bit package and installing that in case I was wrong and was actually running x86 all these years, and was greeted with:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
So great.
I can't install x64, because apparently I'm running x86, and I can't install x86 because I'm already running x64.
Good job windows
I've tried 2 W7 ultimate discs, and it's happened with both in exactly the same way, so I suspect the problem lies deep within my Vista installation....
Has anyone come across an error like this before? Or have any suggestions on my next course of action?
Other than a tear down and fresh install over the top I can't see a way out... and it's taken me so long to get my media library's set up and annexed just right I really CBA to be fiddling about again...
Thanks all!
