    Blank Screen at Startup

hey, I have a HP Pavilion Elite, OP windows seven.
The problem i have is when i turn the computer on, it goes through the RAID boot up and the Ethernet Boot up. But after that, all I receive on my monitor is a blank black screen. if anyone knows how to fix this, that would help a lot. Thnx.

What changes did you make prior to this happening?

Is this new behavior with a RAID then Ethernet boot? Do you have RAID?

I actually do not know. I recieved this computer with a note that said corrupt boot file, and I was hoping that someone might recognize it and know how to repair it.

Determine if the computer has RAID. If not disable it on BIOS pre-screen.

Enter BIOS setup to set HD as first bootable device.

If this doesn't help, check the SATA controller and try AHCI or IDe modes instead of RAID.

This is assuming the booting of RAID and Ethernet are causing the problem.

If not, then try booting the Win7 DVD Repair console or REpair CD to Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times
    System Repair Disc - Create

Startup Repair should automate System Restore. If it doesn't notify you of this, then run it separately afterwards if Win7 doesn't start up or Repair can't find a problem.
