Installation of Windows 7 without touching the MBR.

I want to reinstall Windows 7 on my machine but I can't have Windows 7 messing with my MBR. If Windows 7 wipes out my MBR I'm going to be reinstalling Fedora 14 also and that is going to ruin my day. Can this be done?

I tried installing Ubuntu and it failed miserably on my machine. The only release I have been using is Fedora for many reasons. Is it possible to reinstall Windows without wiping out my MBR?

Install on separate HD's, boot using BIOS boot order or Boot Manager. This keeps GRUB from corrupting Win7, and Win7 from overwriting GRUB if you unplug the Ubuntu HD during 7 install.

That would be great if I wasn't on a laptop with one hard drive on it. Is it possible to reinstall Windows 7 without wiping the MBR that anyone knows of?

    Thank you,

I do not think so. I would ask SIW2 who may know if anyone does.

It might work by applying an image of any Win7 installation which has been SysPrepped, removing all drivers and activation to start on new hardware. Then reimage to unallocated space and add to GRUB to start it up: Windows 7 Installation - Transfer to a New Computer

If it isn't possible I'd really like it if Microsoft would make it possible. Windows has its place and strong suites but I don't develop on it for a lot of reasons.
