i need to do a fresh install of windows 7 64bit so that means i need to wipe my hard drive. does that mean i need to update my bios again after the install and do i have to do the south bridge drivers again aswell ?

No to your first question. The BIOS is independent of Windows.
The best thing to do before you re-install is to visit the manufacturer website and download ALL the necessary Windows 7 compatible drivers and save them to an external source (if possible). That way you know you have ALL the drivers you'll need post-install.
i have another hard drive on my pc which will not be wiped, so i have put the south brigde drivers and other drivers there. its just the bios i have never done myself and don`t know how to do either.

The best thing with the BIOS, is to find out if a newer version gives you any new functionality that you need - note the use of the word need. If not, you probably do not need to update it.

If you want help on the bios, you need to tell us what you have right now. Click on Start orb, type msinfo32, hit Enter. Note down your bios details and post here.

If you are not having performance issues, it's not a good idea to flash the BIOS, if anything goes wrong during the process it could ruin the motherboard forever.
Windows 7 should add all the necessary drivers for the installation, have a look at device manager after the install completes to see if any drivers need added.
Just do the wipe, after you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media, use Step One of this tutorial at the link below to do a wipe (secure erase) to the entire Hard Disk Drive, running this "clean all" then using the outline in Step Two #2 to create/format and mark Active a single 100GB partition using diskpart will get you the best possible space to do a clean install of Windows 7 to; you can always extend the Windows partition to include the remaining unallocated space on the Hard Disk Drive or create additional partitions after the installation completes if you choose.

If you need a BIOS update, do it from Windows which is safest.
I would not change drivers issued by the installer. This is not XP. MS spent a fortune getting Win7 drivers into the installer and quickly updated via optional Windows Updates.
Only if there are performance reasons would I swap out drivers, including mobo drivers.
