7-Ult 64 Install

I have an enterprise disk for installation of the 64-bit OS. The machine is fully capable & equipped for the installation, but whtn I try to boot from the DVD, I get the "Can't do it with this OS" message. The HD is blank CMOS set...don't know what to do from here. Any help appreciated.

Which CPU are you using? Is there perhaps an option in the BIOS to enable 64-bit support?

Windows Enterprise is basically for business customers.

The Windows 7 Enterprise operating system (OS) is available to Microsoft Software Assurance customers. With Windows 7 Enterprise, you can take advantage of the following features that are not available in Windows 7 Professional:
  • DirectAccess: Give mobile users seamless access to corporate networks without a need to VPN.
  • BranchCache: Decrease the time branch office users spend waiting to download files across the network.
  • Federated Search: Find information in remote repositories, including SharePoint sites, with a simple user interface.
  • BitLocker and BitLocker To Go: Help protect data on PCs and removable drives, with manageability to enforce encryption and backup of recovery keys.
  • AppLocker: Specify what software is allowed to run on a user's PCs through centrally managed but flexible Group Policies.
  • Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) optimizations: Improved user experience for VDI with multimon and microphone support, which have the ability to reuse virtual hard drive (VHD) images to boot a physical PC.
  • Multilingual user interface: Create a single OS image for deployment to users worldwide.
Windows Enterprise is also available to MSDN & TechNet members

Windows 7 Ultimate - 32-bit

1. Software was donated by Microsoft through TechSoup;
2. Disk is new, first time it has been out of the sleeve;
3. Machine info attached...all indications are that it is 64 capable

Hard drive is Segate Baracuda 1 TB- was new, but I put 7-Ult-32 on it in an attempt to use the 7-64 as an UG. I then deleted all patitions & started from scratch again.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update. If so, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways To Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup, set SATA controller to AHCI first, then later change to IDE mode if necessary.

Try wiping the HD of all code, use the DVD's Custom>Drive Options to create New partition(s), format and install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
Clean Install Windows 7

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.
