    Dual Boot Win7-Productive & Win7-Test

    Hi all,

I've read the great tutorials for many dual boot options.
Though I am missing one (at least I have not found it).
I am seeking advice about installing 2 versions of Windows 7 possibly on one disk to boot from with the bootmanager.
One version for productive use and the other version sort of as a sandbox to play and try apps and things.
Is there a tutorial or advice how to set up such a dual boot environment using the same Windows 7 license?
Thanks for mentioning helpful hints, tips, tricks and traps.

PS: also thanks a ton to the many really helpful tutorials - great forum!

It would be the same as this: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and Vista

You will likely need a separate license to do what you want. But you can try it for 30 days to see if you want to keep it.

    Aha, that easy, thanks.

    Well, almost.

In order to have to 2 validated versions of Windows 7 using one license only, I installed the Windows 7 testing environment on a separate disk.

Then to select the desired OS version to boot (productive or test) I am using the BIOS boot option F8 instead (ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe).

Also a very easy solution with the advantage to use one license.
