Samsung F1 Drive Install Issue

Existing Setup
Abit IN9 32-Max, 2gig OCZ, E6300, WD 250g, Win7 v7264 x32
NO issues, everything runs fine.

Removed WD 250g and switched to Samsung F1 Spinpoint 750g drive (which is essentially my old gamming system running on xp).

Cannot install Win7, regardless of version, locks halfway through install. Hard reset and Drive is no longer detected.

I experienced this same issue back when I had the gaming system and the only way to fix it was to disable Command Qeueing ( which was recommended by users with same issue ). The problem seems to be with the nvidia chipset ( in this case 6) not playing nice with some Samsung drives. However, I was able to install XP and of course disable this option. PC then ran fine for a year, no lockups.

Basically same system, but will not allow Win7 to install. Ive tried different sata ports, different partitions, different win7 versions, different bios settings... Always locks halfway through.

Dinesh, I appreciate the suggestions, but I should have pointed out that I always get past the partition phase of the install.

I always lock somewhere between %10 to 50 of the install, after partitions and when it is copying most of the files from DVD to drive for eventual install.

Sorry for the late response.

The issue was the drive itself, I ran the Samsung drive tool and it resulted in a small error. I sent the drive back RMA and got a new drive which worked just fine.

2 months later, the RMA drive ( which I am sure was refurbished ) also went bad. Sent this back again RMA and got another replacement. I am not taking changes, so I bought a new WD Green drive.. very quite and cool drive, I recommend it.

The samsung is now going to be used as a backup drive.
