    Where did you get Win7?
Hi Greg, sorry I didnīt answer that. My brother gave my a copy of his. We donīt live nearby, thatīs why he uploaded it for me, I downladed and burnt the ISO file into a dvd.
I did it with ImgBurn at 4x as you say

I tried to run it again las night, and now it has been about 10 hours with the blinking cursor.
I have a WD 1.5 tb, is it reasonabe or something is not working?
anyway, I have to leave my house now, so I will give it a couple more hours, and see when I come back.
If it didnīt work I will follow your advice.

Many thanks to all, hope I can fix this, or unless know whatīs going on

Where did your brother get Win7? How do you plan to activate it?

You'll need to verify the source ISO integrity and burn before we can proceed because this is likely a corrupt ISO or bad burn.

    Here's a suggestion.

We are now seeing some have serious issues getting Windows 7 to install completely to such large spaces/partitions as 1 & 2TB Hard Disk Drives, you may have better success creating a single 100GB partition to do the install to; then you can always extend the Windows partition to include the remaining unallocated space on the HDD or create additional Primary partitions or create an Extended partition after the installation completes if you choose.

SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Since you already did the clean all, boot to diskpart again and run the clean command as opposed to the clean all, the clean will over-write all format configuration data on the HDD then you create a single 100GB partition to do the install to after the clean finishes (takes 2 seconds) like in Step Two of the same tutorial.

    DISKPART : At PC Startup

       Note

    • Then if you do not want to create the new Windows 7 "System Reserved" partition use the outline in Step Two #2 to create, format and mark Active a single 100GB partition to do the installation to.
    • If you do want to create the "System Reserved" partition use the outline in Step Two #3 to create, format and mark Active the System Reserved partition and then create and format the 100GB partition to do the installation to.

ok, Iīll try to run a test and then a WRITE ZEROES with the WD utility, so that I leave the win7 disc out of the question.
Once I get that results Iīll solve the win7 disc problem

    many thanks for your help!

Sorry Bare Foot Kid, I have missed this one. I donīt know if I was clear, but the 'clean all' wasn't succesfull, I just kept blinking but never got to the "DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk" sign.
You mean I should do the 'clean' only even if 'clean all' didnīt work?
What I also donīt understand is if the 'clean all' can fail because of a failure in the installation CD. I thought it was like that, thatīs why I thought about doing the WRITE ZEROES through the WD aplication.

Anyway, I thought it would be wise to do a check on the disk for phisycal problems, as indeed Iīm not sure if it is damaged.

Please let me know your thinking about this so I can decide how to move on

and again, many thanks to you all for your help,

You are aware the clean all would probably take around/close to 6 hours to complete on a 1.5TB HDD?

If the cursor kept blinking that may mean the clean all had not finished.

Use the clean command to see if it completes, it'll only take a couple seconds to see if that completes, if it does complete create and mark active a single 100GB partition and see if the install will start.

thanks! Itīs been 16 hours of blinking, so thatīs why I asume it failed.
I will try the clean command and see if it completes

    thanks!
