Hi Greg, sorry I didn´t answer that. My brother gave my a copy of his. We don´t live nearby, that´s why he uploaded it for me, I downladed and burnt the ISO file into a dvd.
I did it with ImgBurn at 4x as you say

I tried to run it again las night, and now it has been about 10 hours with the blinking cursor.
I have a WD 1.5 tb, is it reasonabe or something is not working?
anyway, I have to leave my house now, so I will give it a couple more hours, and see when I come back.
If it didn´t work I will follow your advice.

Where did your brother get Win7? How do you plan to activate it?

You'll need to verify the source ISO integrity and burn before we can proceed because this is likely a corrupt ISO or bad burn.

ok, I´ll try to run a test and then a WRITE ZEROES with the WD utility, so that I leave the win7 disc out of the question.
Once I get that results I´ll solve the win7 disc problem

Since you already did the clean all, boot to diskpart again and run the clean command as opposed to the clean all, the clean will over-write all format configuration data on the HDD then you create a single 100GB partition to do the install to after the clean finishes (takes 2 seconds) like in Step Two of the same tutorial.

Sorry Bare Foot Kid, I have missed this one. I don´t know if I was clear, but the 'clean all' wasn't succesfull, I just kept blinking but never got to the "DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk" sign.
You mean I should do the 'clean' only even if 'clean all' didn´t work?
What I also don´t understand is if the 'clean all' can fail because of a failure in the installation CD. I thought it was like that, that´s why I thought about doing the WRITE ZEROES through the WD aplication.

Anyway, I thought it would be wise to do a check on the disk for phisycal problems, as indeed I´m not sure if it is damaged.

Please let me know your thinking about this so I can decide how to move on

Use the clean command to see if it completes, it'll only take a couple seconds to see if that completes, if it does complete create and mark active a single 100GB partition and see if the install will start.

Everything failed, specially WD diagnostics, so RMA, I´ll get a replacement next week.
