Help with installing Win 7 to blank DVD

    My 7x64 is using 14.1gb - he may have more shadow copies.

    Vista 64 bit will be about the same.

    If you need it to use less disk space - try 32 bit, or edit Vista/7 install files with vlite.

    Shadow copies?

    Its build 7264 Win 7 Ultimate 64bit

    I have a 500 odd gig harddrive..not worried, was just wondering..

    Interesting My Win7 7264 is 12GB by default....while 8 GB with hibernate and sytem restore turned off....

    Another one is made every time a restore pt is created. System restore only restores a small amount of what is in the shadow copy.

    But would that still apply if I deleted the partition of the HDD and started fresh?

    Yes, when a restore pt is made a shadow copy is created.

    You can control the amount of space used for Shadow storage - reduce it now if you want - the older pts will be deleted if they fall outside the space you have allocated.

    Not sure why you want to reinstall.
