Remove Windows Vista From Dual Boot System

I am dual booting Vista and Windows7 RC 7100. They are both on the same Hard Drive on different partitions. I have made the decision to stick with the new OS (Windows7) and give Vista the boot. So I want to get rid of the extra partition and revert to a single OS (Windows7). I don’t want to reformat the whole hard drive and completely re-install the windows7 operating system. I want to remove Vista from the dual boot menu and keep windows7. Then I want to format the Vista Partition. How can I do this and keep my present installation of Windows7 without having to reinstall Windows7?

    Hope this is explained clearly.

Right-click Computer -> Click Properties. On the left panel you should see "Advanced system settings". Click that. You should be brought to the system properties familiar to NT 5.0 and 5.1 (2000 and XP). Click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery box.

Vista and 7 no longer allow you to edit the boot file from here since it uses a newer boot system. This screen will still allow you to just boot straight to 7. Make sure the Default Operating System is set to 7. Uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems:" and hit OK. Now you won't SEE Vista as an option anymore.

Now it's time to REMOVE it. Right-click Computer -> Click Manage -> Select Disk Management. Vista and 7 use a separate partition for the boot record. DO NOT touch this partition. Find the partition Vista is on, right-click it, and click Delete Volume. Hit 'Yes' on the confirmation screen and you're done with Vista. You can now extend 7 onto that partition.

Thanks VeeEss that did it. I also made a backup of both systems before I wiped out Vista in case I want to go back to both systems again.

that's grey in my case. what shoudl I do?
the partition with vista (the first OS I installed) says: system, active, primary partition
the partition with 7 says: boot, page file, crash dump, primary partition
