Reinstallation problems
During a reinstall I inadvertently created some problems and I am not sure how because I have reinstalled OSs on several occasions including Windows 7.
Some how I ended up installing a dual boot. One system on each of my two drives.
What occurred during this process is that my Raptor changed name to D: from it's original C:.
I have subsequently fixed the dual boot issue by disconnecting the TB drive and reinstalled. I removed the dual boot choice prompt thru msconfig>boot tab.
But I a left with the Raptor as D:, not C:.
If I reinstall again what changes do I need to make so the drive name returns to C:? Is it in the "boot disc priority" tab in the bios? Does the Raptor need to be in the first slot? A DVD drive is presently in that slot.
Any help would be really appreciated. I am somewhat "computer challenged", and this is way over my skill level.
Thanks again, Harry
Hope I am editing correctly. And this is the correct information you requested.
The only hard drive I have connected is the 300 GB VelociRapter. I will reconnect the now totally empty 1TB if and when I get this resolved.
The OS and programs will be on the 300 GB and the 1TB is only used for storage.
I just want the 300 GB Raptor to be called C: so that I don't have problems with default location downloads.
I'm sorry if I am not supplying information you need, I'll be the first to admit I'm not the sharpest tool is the shed.
But I truly appreciate your efforts to help.
Harry
