Vlite and Windows 7: An interesting thing I found.....

Hey Win7Forums how is everything going today? I was tinkering around with Vlite (a utility to customize an installation of Windows, like removing features and such) and (unless I am mistaken) the SKUs for the other editions are already there....When I loaded it in it let me choose which edition I wanted (HOME BASIC, HOME PREMIUM, PROFESSIONAL, ULTIMATE) and I could modify that edition to what I wanted. I didn't get a chance to test it out since vlite would freeze on applying settings...so what are your thoughts on this? Is the fact vlite froze a sign that maybe the SKUs are actually there? Lets see what you guys think

They have always been there, all you had to do was delete the ei.cfg from the ISO and then you could choose which version to install. The only problem is we only have keys to activate ultimate, so the other version you would get 30 days of use.

Or...for right now the field is clear for any version....since nothing activates legally on 7264 now.

By the way....Any thoughts on why they wouldn't do that regardless. If your going to say so people wouldn't activate anything besides Ultimate I understand that but still...they should just let you

    I would guess 2 reasons.

    1. To get you hooked on ultimate
    2. To test everything.
