Installing Windows 64bit Windows 7 on SSD

I have a 40gb Intel SSD. I want to install Windows 7 on it, but I want to keep windows isolated on it. I want all my data and programs to be put on my RAID0 (2 300GB Western Digital Velocirators 10000RPM). I want the OS to be completely untouched so the SSD just uses it read. How would I go about this? Is this a smart way to set up my computer? Or is there a better way?

As far as I know, Windows can't do this. Linux seems to manage fine with different boot and home directories, but Windows seems to complain. I guess you could try the right click thing to change your directories, but it may be difficult :/

    Hi Ashton,

What you are suggesting is indeed possible.

I have a 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 which has Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 installed on it. I also chose to install MSE, Malwarebytes, MSOffice and a few bits and bobs in there too.

I also have 2 x Samsunge F3 500GB Spinpoints in a RAID0 which has a host of other stuff installed on that, including a whack of data files, incl. music and photo's.

    The system works just fine.

40GB is quite large, so I would consider putting your critical applications (e.g. anti-virus software) on that. You will have more than enough space on it. Keep an eye on your system restore points and hibernation file : they eat into free space very quickly.

Here is an image of my installation:
