Doesnt make any sence. HELP!

So I custom made my computer with a retail copy of 7 x64 Home Premium. Everything was great, until I moved it to a different table for a LAN. The Windows folder was corrupted, so I put in the installation disc, and it claimed some file was missing. Confused, I decided to put in my old XP disc, to install an older OS so I could atleast use the computer. It would tell me that many files on the disc were missing and would not install. I used my friend's disc, and the same exact thing happened. Both discs are not scratched. I decided to barrow my friend's 7 x64 ultimate copy, and when it gets to the point where it "starts windows" to install the OS, it blue screens. The hardware is all secure inside, and I have formatted the hard drives with no success. Does anyone have ANY idea what I can do?

Try install with 2gb of ram, not 16gb.

If removing all but 2gb of RAM doesn't allow install, swap RAM stick, test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Try resetting the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Set SATA controller in BIOS setup to AHCI to try install.

Then Wipe the HD: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

If these steps fail, try installing using USB flash stick: install UltraISO trial, on File tab open confirmed ISO file, on Bootable tab Write DIsk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD's.

When you say "I moved it to different TABLE". Do you mean you moved your desktop PC? Or is this a notebook?

Yes, a desktop. The single stick of ram trick worked, and I installed Win 7 again. But now it blue screens about 20 seconds into starting windows.. What should I do now? I did reformat before I installed too.

Hello Qujibo, welcome to Seven Forums!

Perhaps you should completely wipe the entire HDD and try again and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media, then boot the Windows 7 installation media to use Step One of this tutorial at the first link below to do a wipe (secure erase) to the entire Hard Disk Drive / Solid State Drive.

Whether you use diskpart to run either the clean all command to completely wipe a HDD / SSD or just the clean command to remove the format configuration data and don't use diskpart to create at least a single partition to do the installation to, letting the Windows installer do the format you will end up with the new Windows 7 System Reserved partition, if you want to make your own decision whether this partition is added, study these two (2) options below.

Then if you do not want to create the new Windows 7 "System Reserved" partition use the outline in Step Two #2 to create, format and mark Active a single 100GB partition to do the installation to.
If you do want to create the "System Reserved" partition use the outline in Step Two #3 to create, format and mark Active the System Reserved partition and then create and format the 100GB partition to do the installation to.

Either way, running the "clean all" then creating and formatting the partition(s) using diskpart will get you the best possible space to do a clean install of Windows 7 to; you can always extend the Windows partition to include the remaining unallocated space on the HDD / SSD or create additional Primary partitions or an Extended partition after the installation completes if you choose.

Do a Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

If you don't want to wipe the entire HDD, you can do a partition-specific wipe of the Windows partition using the Partition Wizard Bootable Disk (PWBD) have a look at Option Three in the tutorial at this link below.

Did you test your RAM as suggested? I would run at least 5-6 passes or overnight.

Does it bluescreen with just the one stick you used to install? Try another stick.

Can you boot into Safe Mode to check Device Manager to see if any device is in error, then update or change it's driver - or uninstall it to see if it will start to Desktop? Driver Install - Device Manager - Windows 7 Forums

Are the ram sticks all the same, mismatching stick will BSOD.

Check the ram support for your MOBO.

Sorry to bump like this, but I had a lot to do with work. The ram should be working according to the specs page. Also, I can't run the memory diag because my computer keeps saying some file is missing from the CD. With every CD I use!!!! Would a video of what's happening help?
