    Windows 7 on Pentium 4 Machine


    Hi i was wondering if i install Windows 7 32bit on my sister's PC so will it run fine? the specs are below: It's just used for Browsing, Documents etc.

    Pentium 4 3GHz HT 2MB Cache
    Intel DG31PR Motherboard (Built-In VGA)
    Kingston 1GB DDR2
    160GB HDD (IDE)
    Samsung DVD-RW SATA
    Creative SB Live 5.1

    Hi BFK oh i havent run it on her PC i also wanna know will it run the Aero theme?

    Win7 wil probably run on it, but slowly. Aero will depend on the video graphics adapter.

    I run Win7 Home Premium on my Mom's computer P4@3.4HT, 2GB DDR1 and a 320WD SATA2 with a 128MB AGP Nvidia Quaddro, and everything works nicely, not the fastest, but way faster than the old XP SP3.

    Yes 7 will work on it, even Aero. Intel has Windows 7 drivers for it,

    chipset,

    and for that old SB Live 5.1 this would be the best bet for it,

    SB Live! series Support Pack 2.0 (04/30/2010) - Creative Labs

    as there are no official Windows 7 drivers for it.

    About the only thing you might want to do to it for Windows 7 is drop another gig of ram in it.
