    Boot manager is missing

I have just done a clean install of 7 RC but my machine wont boot without the disk in the drive. If I take it out is says boot manager is missing ctrl alt del to restart. If i do a reinstall will I lose all that I have done? Is it possible to download and install a boot manager and if so how?

    Thanks

    Kez

    Hi Kez :)

If you boot from your install disk first you do the language bit then click 'Repair your computer' Windows will find the problem with your MBR or If Startup Repair does not automatically detect a problem click 'Repair your computer' then click Command Prompt and type FIXBOOT writes a boot sector onto the system partition to start Windows or FIXMBR re-writes the master boot record (MBR) of the system partition.

This is because the the OS is looking at the DVD drive for the boot files.

Just go into the bios and set your HDD as the first boot device. This should fix it.

    *Edit*

Obviously make sure that it's the HDD that you installed to..
