If you could 'find' an exact same version Windows 7 installer as what you are using with the SP 1 already integrated you could use that for the installation and activate with your activation key and you wouldn't have all those updates to dl and install.

The best way to delete those old securom files is to take ownership of them, then boot into safe mode and try deleting them.

The other way, which worked for me, was to take ownership of the files from another system. I have Vista installed on my machine as well, so I boot into Vista, find the files take ownership and delete them.

Make sure you take ownership of the file, not just the folder.

Also - https://support.securom.com/removaltool.html (Securom's official site)

Bear in mind that if you have something that's using Securom you may have to reinstall it after removing the files.

My two cents.

That's a lot of work just to get rid of two harmless small files.

Your call though.
