change system hard drive

    Is it booting with E unplugged? Good work.

    Make sure E stays marked Inactive. If not, I'd move the data off and use PW CD to Wipe the HD from Disk tab. I would not want it continuiing to hold the System flag as it could interfere in the future.

    no :) it did the job with everything still plugged
    only made E inactive before Rebuilding MBR, didnt autostart either
    hence the "quickly and easily" remark :)
    it remains inactive and everything is fine, thanks again

    yes it is.
    the other two, E and F are 'Primary partition'
