    Installation/format issue

Hi. I have a Lenovo laptop that has win 7 as I installed to see OS. But that gave me a lot of problems since Lenovo does not provide drivers for that model to support win 7. I tried to reinstall Win XP. But I have a message during installation - " ... cannot find hard drive...". I want to format and install Win XP. There is no important data on hdd. I can format or do whatever need to be done to install Win XP. Please help!

    Take a look at this:
SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
    OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

Are you using the Lenovo Recovery Disks?

No. I have my Win XP disc. That machine came with Vista, but I did not like it, that's why I tried Win 7. And then I'llgoto Lenovo site and download drivers.

If your Lenovo can run Vista, it can run Win7. Try 32 bit if you have >4gb RAM.

Use the drivers given by the installer and quickly updated via optional Windows Updates.

Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for the Device, if necessary by tracing the hardware ID: Hardware Identification

Let us know if there are any problems. Here are steps to get a perfect install - use the ones which apply: Reinstalling Windows 7
