Shrink C in Disk Mgmt by as much as you want for XP: Partition or Volume - Shrink
Then boot the XP installer to create and format a partition in the space you made, following the steps in Method One here exactly to get a Dual Boot: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP
Would i not follow method two since 7 is installed first?
I was reading method two - at step 6 if there is a error Using your Windows 7 installation disc, boot to the command prompt at startup. I only have the 3 restore disks. Can i still get the prompt from the disks?
Thanks
Good catch. Yes you want to use Method Two since you went ahead and restored Win7.
Make a Win7 Repair CD in the Backup Center first. I'd also keep a Win7 backup image externally as a more practical backup. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
