There seems to be a trend here. I just can't imagine that so many burns on 2 different drives have resulted in failures. The odds don't support it being the burning software.

In instances like this, the most common fault is the hard drive, but this could also be a memory issue.

So, I'd first suggest that you perform a bootable memory diagnostic. Use this free tool (rather than the built in memory tool): Bootable Memory Test Diagnostics - Vox

Then try a bootable hard drive diagnostic ( Bootable Hard Drive Diagnostics - Vox )

The BSOD's don't point to anything in particular, but here's the summary:

I'm having the same exact problem. I've tried about 5 different ISO burning programs, even IMGBurn at x1 speed. Have made 6 different disks. Always freezes, and if it finishes it just restarts the PC. I can't do anything...OP how did you finally get your OS to actually install? What did you do? I don't understand this partitian stuff.

Windows 7

I just used an official Windows XP disk and it still froze on the "Setup is loading files" screen. If that disk doesn't work then I doubt another burned disk will buang. Thanks for the help. Any other ideas?

Replaced RAM with working one. Replaced DVD drive with working one. Tried to update the BIOs with an ISO off the company site and it updates for a little and does the same thing: freezes randomly.

What the hell is wrong....?

Install from DVD freezes on "Windows is Loading Files"
Computer is a couple years old, self built, no issues. Watching hulu and suddenly there's a crackling sound, a flash of light, and screen freezes (not bsod, just total freeze). No biggie, reboot. Won't reboot. Get's to "Starting Windows" and freezes. Figured it's a ram or hard drive issue. ...
