Just finished burning vista on the same dvd-burner. Will test momentarity, will update you guys.
I have an old dvd-rw(IDE) and the current one I'm using is the SATA.
This is what I've concluded so far:
SATA Dvd - Windows 7 7100 Build = Failed(BOOTMGR missing)

IDE Dvd - Windows 7 7100 Build =

That means my iso/copy of win 7 and vista are nuked. will try if it works with xp.

Guess I got my hopes high. The XP booted but hanged up as soon as it checks the components.

Have you got a DVD lense cleaner? It could be that there is dust on the laser causing a burn issue.
