Will 64-bit be beneficial for me?

I have a laptop dual-booting Vista 32-bit, and Windows 7 64 bit, along with a data partition and a recovery partition. I was just wondering, is 64 bit Windows 7 faster than 32 bit for me?

I understand that 32 bit only recognises up to 3.5GB ram (ish) but I only have 3GB. All of my drivers are 64 bit compatible, so that can't cause an issue, and my processor is the AMD Athlon II X2 QL-65 running @ 2.1Ghz.

If I had a completely clean installation of either, which would you recommend?

I'm sure this will be a simple and common question to you, and I have tried searching but I'm not convinced.

    Thanks in advance, Will.

    Welcome
No one can answer that but you, it is subjective and depends upon your personal objectives. Here are the facts, however that will help you decide.

Ok thanks, I hadn't read all of those facts yet, I've decided it can't hurt too much to have 64 bit :)

    Thanks again!, Will.

I did not want to influence you, its your money and computer, but, right call. 64 is the wave of the future. There were rumours sometime back that next Windows would not even be 32, just 64. In any event, the days for 32 bit are numbered.
    Good luck
