When mounted it gives me this:

When extracting and trying to run setup.exe it says win32 is not compatible.

I'm using XP SP3 when i'm trying to install it.

Also i can't burn it to DVD as i dont have any left, and not enough big USB stick for alternative.

EDIT: Is it because i'm running X86 version of WinXP from where i'm trying to run it?
Hey Im confused. your system spec says vista 64, you say xp 32, trying to install win 7 64, as an upgrade right? and from the same partiton?

I heard you can by rebooting in to safe more with command prompt and then running the setup.exe. I have not done it yet, but I heard it talked of. This helped people with non bootable disks get it installed. Yours, of course, will have to be a clean install.

My laptop is running Vista x86, my second laptop Vista x64 (which is in my profile), and my desktop PC XP x86.

I'm trying to install Win7 x64 to that XP x86 machine. But seems like Windows doesn't like it.

Hmm, but in safe mode the kernel is still reading x86 arbitrary code, so it should still give Not win32 compatible error. It's 3:54 A.M. here and wanted to install that damn thing. Another trip to shop for DVDs i suppose then.

EDIT: So can i just format my current installation with some external program, and clean install x64 Win7?

You can run the installation from boot and it will give you the option to custom install and there you can either format the partition or just install on the existing partition, if you choose not to format then the old XP installation will be placed in a folder called Windows.old and will not effect the Windows 7 installatioon,.

After your installation has finished you can then access all your old files from the Window.old directory but you will need to reinstall all your old programs although if you have stand alone programs they may still work and you could possibly just move them back into the programs folder or program file (x86) folder if you have installed x64.

What exactly should i run under boot? bootsect.exe gives Win32 not compatible, etfsboot.com isn't running, memtest.exe is for memory testing.

And do i have to run it under Safe Mode?
