What exact options are on the one-time Asus Boot Menu reached by tapping F8?

    Is there Repair My Computer?

What options are given when you select that choice?

    the options are
    repair your computer
    safe mode
    safe mode with networking
    safe mode with command prompt
    enable boot logging
    enable low-resolution(640x480)
    last know good configuration(advanced)
    directory services restore mode
    debugging mode
disable automatic restart on system failure
    disable driver signature enforcement
    start windows normally

disabke driver signature enforcement is what im using at the moment to get limited acces to the comp, now using "repair your computer" takes me to the system recovery options..... choose a recovery tool
START UP REPAIR... which attempts but fails to repair
SYSTEM RESTORE ... no restore points
SYSTEM IMAGE RECOVERY..... windows cannot find a system image, attach hard disc or final cd etc...
WINDOWS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC.... restarts and goes to a windows boot manager screen telling me windows as failed to start and insert installation disc etc.... its also telling me \boot\memtest.exe is missing or corrupt...
    COMMAND PROMPT....
the support from ASUS are a bit useless, this is my first laptop and first preloaded OS.. i was thinking it was gonna be piece of piss to scrub clean anytime i wanted, although never thought about how i would do it with it preloaded so never really gave making back up cds much of a thought... i have very much learned a lesson this week lol

Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.
Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.
    HD Diagnostic

You can Order Asus recovery disks from here:
    ASUS eStore
At the search box, type in RECOVERY
