Installing new Windows 7 Home Premium in English, with german copy

Hello and thanks to the community in advance for the help!

I have the following situation. I bough a new PC (Acer), with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. As you can imagine is full of crap I dont need. This installation is in German.

I downloaded a new OEM copy, of the same OS, this time in English, and my question is, if it is possible to install the OS in English, with they that comes with the computer, that is, with the german version.

Thanks a lot in advance for your answers!

You can if you're so inclined partition your hard drive and install the English version on the new partition.

Better still, if you have two hard drives, disconnect the drive with the German version and install the English version to the second drive then reconnect the drive with the German version and you should be good to go.

I think your question is whether the sticker key will work with english windows? That issue is a bit fuzzy- by some accounts it works, by others it doesnt so you'll just have to give it a shot and see for yourself.

If the question is whether english windows can be installed on that machine, well definitely it can be. Just backup any user data, create a set of recovery disks (acer empowering technology- erecovery), then just boot from the english dvd and do a custom (clean) install.

I concur with Bill2. You'll have to try it to see. Seems it most often works.
