    Starter to Ultimate... how much more HDD space?


    How much more additional hard disk space than starter edition does ultimate edition require?

    It would fit on about a 20GB partition total but if you don't want to almost immediately start running out of space it really needs about 40GB total and that will still be pushing the low-end limit.

    Theres very little difference when it comes to disk size. If you're trying to make up your mind on either of the 2, compare the featureset.

    Of course, Starter only comes preinstalled on netbooks and home basic is for sale only in emerging markets, so basically the competition is among home premium, pro and ultimate. For most users, home premium should suffice.

    You won't need any additional space. All version of Windows 7 have the same files.
