    Installing Windows 7 From Disk Drive of network computer


    I want to format my laptop but i can't use my Optical Disk Drive as it's not working anymore(complete dead) !!
    I have the original Windows 7 Recovery DVD (3 Disks) (That's why i can't even try(think) of using bootable pen drive

    So,all i have is my friends laptop whose optical drive works fine !! Can i use his laptop's drive to install/format my laptop !!

    Please help me out !!

    I don't think so.

    How about replacing your DVD drive or borrowing your friend's DVD drive to swap into your laptop for install?

    Hello again.


    My apologies mate, I didn't realize you were referring to factory recovery disks, have a look at this little guide at the link below for additional methods that may help using the tutorial/method I posted above using only the down-loaded ISO of Windows 7.

    I'm litttle confused as what is the thing to be done !! There a links to other link(thread) which again has link and thats make me confused !!
    Well,yes i'm talking about the factory disks that are needed one by one in the middle of installation

    If you have large USB Pendrive, try this:
    USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create
    & copy the three disks over.

    @all Thanks everyone for your suggestion !! I'm sure if i would have tried yours i'll make it !
    But After Googling i found that i have a hidden partition that contains the operating system and it can be accessed using Alt+F10 key at the booting time !

    I have formated my laptop succesfilly !!

    Sound's like you have a Acer.

    You would have been told that, if you had fill out your spec's.

    Have you tried pressing <Alt+F10> at boot up, to goto the Acer eRecovery Management.
