    Trouble with repair install

I am new here so I apologise if I am in the wrong place.
I am attempting a repair install and I am trying to uninstall SP1.
When uninstalling I receive error 0x80073712.
All I can find on this is install problems not uninstall.
I have run scannow which fixed some problems, however the same problem exists.

Why are you doing a Repair Install?

    Have tried a System Restore?

Error reporting does not work. I cannot select it (the options are greyed out). The service is set to automatic and is running. I have run malwarebytes and super anti spyware.
Also my administrative tools have disappeared of the all programs and start menus (the folders are still there)
I tried several solutions suggested to me on the microsoft Web site and in the end thay provided a link to this site and suggested a repair install
I have also tried a system restore, however I am not sure when these problems first occured

    Cheers

You'll then need to a find an installer for your version with SP1.

If forced to download from the web make sure to read the comments to assure nothing's added. Then rightclick scan the ISO with your AV and Malwarebytes. You can check the HASH against MSDN Downloads details for Win7 ISO's although they are not available except to subscribers.

Keep in mind that the kind of damage you've suffered is most often only remedied by a clean reinstall, in which case you could slipstream your existing ISO: Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

Tips for getting a perfect reinstall which you can then image so you never have to reinstall again: Reinstalling Windows 7
