    Trouble installing Windows 7

I've recently built a new computer with these components:
    Intel Core i5 25000K 3.3Ghz Box Socket 1155
    Zotac Geforce GTX470 - Asus Geforce GTX470
    MSI P67A-GD65 83
Hard drive: Samsung 1Tb SATA II HD103SJ
    DVD recorder LG GH22NS50 DVD-SATA 22X
    FSP Aurum GOLD 700W
    G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2133

After putting it all together, I used a windows 7 installation DVD to try and install it with no avail. After reading several solutions to the problem I had I found this one:

    Method 2: From a Windows install/repair disc
Boot into the install/repair disc and wait for it to load
    Choose “Repair my computer”
    Select “Command Prompt”

    Type diskpart and press enter.
Enter list disk and note the number of the disk you want to install on.
Enter select disk n n is the number of the disk.
Enter list partition and note the number of the partition you want to install on.
Enter select partition n n is the number of the partition.
    Enter active
You can now close the command prompt and re-attempt installation.

After I did this, every time I boot up the computer the windows logo screen is followed by a blank one with a cursor. I have tried safe mode but it didn't work.
Does anybody know how to fix this? It really frutrates me that by trying to solve a problem I created an entirely different one...
By the way, I am rather unskilled with computers, so don't rule out any solution, as simple as it would seem.

Hello Emilio200, welcome to Seven Forums!

As the HDD is fairly new and the Windows 7 install is fairly new also, perhaps if you clean the HDD using the clean and not the clean all command and then create a 100GB partition to do the clean install to it may help.

Have a look at this to boot to diskaprt.
Then use Step One of this one to run the clean and not the clean all as listed, the clean only over-writes the format configuration data and only takes seconds and the clean all over-writes the entire HDD and takes hours, and should not be necessary on a 'new' HDD.

Then use Step Two, either #2 or #3 to create and mark "Active" the partition(s) and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

    1) Install with only one Vodeo card.

    2) Install with 2gb of ram, (your specs are ??gb)

    3) Partition HD, Windows 7 partition to about 100gb.

I'm sorry, I think I didn't explain myself very well.
What happens is, after encountering a problem while installing Windows 7 (which isn't the focus of this thread) I found a solution that involved the steps above. When I followed said steps and the computer restarted and booted up from the installation DVD, the black screen with the cursor would appear after showing the Windows logo.
In short, I am unable to use the DVD, and as I mentioned, safe mode didn't work either.
Edit: As you can imagine, I can't follow any of your suggestions, not unless there is a way to manipulate the HDD with the BIOS menu or something of the sort. By the way, I have 2 RAM memories of 4Gb each.

If it's not an installation issue, why are you booting the Windows DVD?

The thing is, the error pops up while booting up said DVD.
Here is what happens step by step:
Computer starts, and boots from the DVD reader.
A bar appears reading 'Loading Windows files'.
    Windows 7 logo shows up.
A black screen with a cursor appears, whereas before a language selection screen would pop up.

If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try.

Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of no more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes.

The DVD does come from an ISO, yet I think I verified it, but then again it doesn't work now, so I'll follow your advice.
    Thanks for your support!
