Problems loading Windows 7 on to Acer Aspire AM3900 with Linux preload

    Hi,

I hope someone out there can help me. I have just purchased an Acer Aspire AM3900 which came with Lupis Linux software preloaded. I bought it because of its spec, Intel Pentium E5800 with 4Gb ram and 1TB HDD and figured price was good because it did not come with W7 preloaded. At least 1 review which I read before purchasing said they had loaded windows 7 with no issues. I have made several attempts to load a copy of Windows 7 Professional without success. Each tme I get a message just as the loading has started saying that it cannot find the drivers for the CD drive which is listed as being DVD Super-Multi drive. There was a CD which came with the computer with drivers on it. The CD says it is for W7 X86/X64 but when I load it I get a nother message saying that no drivers have been found. I have also downloaded drivers from the Acer websie but none of them are reconised iether.
I realise this is not a Linux forum but if there is anyone who could help I would appreciate it.
Beginning to realise cheap sometimes means nasty.

    Cheers

All Linux code must be deleted using the CLEAN ALL command. As you have had linux on the HD you need do a Clean all & full format.

    Type in command line
    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
    SELECT DISK # (win HD)
    CLEAN ALL
    CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    SELECT PARTITION 1
    ACTIVE
    FORMAT fs=NTFS
    ASSIGN
    EXIT
    EXIT

Sorted, thanks for your prompt help and advice. Have to admit I didn't do it on my own but got a friend who knows a lot more than I do to help me. We wiped the HDD and changed some parameters in the BIOS and windows loaded fine.
