Drives Boot Order

    Drives Boot Order


    SSD, HDD and DVD DRIVE.
    What should be the boot order for these three? Someone told me it was DVD>HDD>SDD and on a guide I read it was HDD>DVD>SDD. Is there actually a specific boot order or is it based more on what you're using it for or something like that?



    Not too sure which category to post this thread in since im building a new PC and I think that goes under 'Installation'... Or maybe it shouldve been in 'Hardware'...?

    That is what I do. I boot my machine from a USB stick, and all other boot devices available in my BIOS are disabled. But if I wanted, I could make an HDD the second boot device and the machine would boot from there if/when the stick might not be present.

    Set HD to boot first for absolute best performance, then if you need to boot disk or stick use the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key given on first boot screen:

    Asus - F8
    HP/Compaq - Esc
    Sony - F2
    Acer - F12
    Gateway - F10
    eMachnes - F10
    Toshiba - F12
    Dell - F12
    IBM/Lenovo - the blue Thinkvantage button
