Just one shot across the bow - I absolutely love the FileRepository folder. You copy it whenever you reinstall, and all the drivers not included in Windows are there - I just direct the device manager installation to that folder and it gets done in a second.

Last time I needed it - I nuked the OEM installation on my Asus from orbit and proceded to install my Ultimate x64, but not before I had copied FileRepository.

Windows/System32/Driverstore holds all the drivers used to install Win7 and then make it Plug-n-play.

    Installed drivers are in Windows/System32/Drivers.

Installed drivers are where you say they are, but the inf files, security catalogs and the drivers, i.e. everything needed to install a driver is stored in the file repository, neatly arranged in folders; and that goes for drivers you install yourself too.
