    Registering Windows 7

I have already downloaded and installed Windows 7 as well as registered it and it has been for quite some time now. My question is, I'm installing a new hard drive tomorrow and want to reinstall the operating system, am i able to use the same product key and have it reactivate or should I get a new one? Thanks

Hello Geekdout, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It depends on what build of Windows 7 you have.

If you have a beta or RC build, then yes you can use the same product key number.

If you have a RTM build, then there is currently no product key number available for it and you cannot activate it legally. Any illegal methods is against the forum rules and cannot be discussed in this forum.

    Hope this helps some,
    Shawn
