    installation stopping at license agreement

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305-A5934 with Windows 7 Pro 32bit that decided to suddenly stop working and tried to run System Repair. The System Repair wouldn't work and I tried to re-install windows using my Windows 7 CD that I've used several times in the past. When the installation got to the License Agreement page, I couldn't click on anything. The cursor moved around the screen just fine but I couldn't click on anything.

I removed the hard drive and put it in a different model Toshiba Satellite and it allowed me to install the windows 7 cd without any problems.

I mentioned my problem to a co-worker and he said that he had had the same problem with his computer. He said that he bought a new hard drive for the computer and all was well.

So I bought a new hard drive and put it in the L305-A5934 and tried to install windows again but again, when I got to the license agreement, I couldn't click on anything.

Has anyone experienced these problems while installing windows?

Put the HD back in the other computer which allowed install to complete, SysPrep it then start it up on the problem computer: SysPrep to move HD to another computer

If this fails, try wiping the HD: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install, test your RAM: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Clear the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Follow these steps to install: Clean Install Windows 7

Clean the DVD drive, or may need to replace the drive.

I started with cleaning the disk drive. When I tried to reinstall again, the installation stopped at the screen where you select your language. I cleaned it again and was back to it stopping at the license agreement page.

I was then gonna use the SysPrep method and started by installing windows on the hdd and the good computer and got the following error msg:
"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x80070570"

At this point I'm done with it. It's not my computer and I'm not getting paid or anything to fix it. So I'm calling it quits and recommending a new laptop to the owner. Thanks for your help anyway.

This is a bad installer error.

Try another Win7 DVD, or burn the ISO to new DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

Try writing ISO to flash stick using UltraISO trial version. On File tab select Open ISO or Open DVD, on Bootable Tab select Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD's.

If stick duplicates error then it is the ISO file. Download another from confirmed source.

I don't have any of the recovery disks and I doubt that the laptop's owner would be able to find them because they are in the middle of moving.

I've used this disk several times and never had a problem with it. And I spoke with the laptop's owners last night while I was fixing their other computer and they've given up on this laptop and are going to buy a new one tomorrow. I'd like to give these a try tonight but I'm having some serious gallbladder problems and probably won't get around to it. I'll let you know how it (the laptop) turns out.

Try resetting the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup, set SATA controller to AHCI to try install. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

Next try removing all but 2gb of RAM to try install. Then Swap RAM sticks. Test your RAM: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

If this fails, try wiping the HD: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Try writing DVD ISO to flash stick using UltraISO trial version: On FIle tab choose Open DVD, on Bootable tab choose Write Disk Image, Format, Install. Boot under USB or HD's.
